The secret to happiness is not having everything you want, but wanting everything you have. Contentment is a direct product of that attitude.

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Broken.”

I try to find beauty in the moments I am broken.

My Desert

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Journey.”

It was dry and barren;

there was no life.

I kept walking

but there were only mirages.

I felt the strains

and endured the pains.

It was an emotional and physical journey

of psychological proportions.

I prayed for wisdom and patience

waiting for my sea to part.

I found faith along the way –

and the shores opened up.

To water my desert

and give me new life.

Islands in Between

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Cliché.

That is what we are. We are what we eat.

I only saw leftover pineapple and a little luncheon meat.

My husband envisioned a Hawaiin pizza.

We do travel after all.

We are islanders and I am the time travelers wife.
