I try to find beauty in the moments I am broken.

My ugly feelings are translated into prettier words.

Many times these pieces end up in my “Nothing and Everything” category.

My Desert

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Journey.”

It was dry and barren;

there was no life.

I kept walking

but there were only mirages.

I felt the strains

and endured the pains.

of psychological proportions.

I prayed for wisdom and patience

waiting for my sea to part.

I found faith along the way –

and the shores opened up.

To water my desert

and give me new life.
